San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom officiates the wedding of Del Martin, 87, center left, and Phyllis Lyon, 84, Monday. Martin and Lyon were the first officially married same-sex couple in the state.
I think I must be dreaming ... having this option available in my own life would have changed it beyond belief. I miss you, Jimmy.

let's hope this time it will stick as it is their 2nd trip down the aisle (i.e. 2004). would be a pity if it got cancelled on your next elections...'cause at their age, i don't know just how long they could wait 'till people got sense knocked into their heads & see gay marriage is not the threat to "conventional" marriage, but str8 people themselves & the way they treat marriage.
For it to stick, it will take restraint on behalf of the GLBT community, along with a matter of authentic witness, not only amongst our own, but that of straight friends and others. What I find interesting is that what the anti-kingdom people wish to destroy will be fought by a collation of the marginalized.

Its nice to see the acceptance of the young where their elders have messed things up.
